Establishment

The Angola Press Agency - public enterprise, briefly referred to as ANGOP, is a large dimension enterprise, enjoys juridic status and adminitrative, financial and patrimonial autonomy. ANGOP was established in Luanda, on July 1975, and its first dispatch dates back to 28 October 1975. It enjoys autonomy and editorial independence under the law n° 9/75 of 15 September and the law n° 22/91 of 15 June.

Objectives

ANGOP has as its objective to gather, process and distribute, in exclusive regime, both inside Angola and outside, news items based on an objective information on the national and international actuality. It provides, through electronic or cable connection, directly or through others, on previous agreement, news items to national and foreign media organizations, on the basis of commitments to this end.
